Yin et yang
The stars of the Beijin Circus until January 13th at the Phénix Circus

A hell of a man, Alain Pacherie ! Passionnate about circus, he took over the torch of the Beijing Circus and the Moscow Circus without compromising : under these designations, Fernand Lombroso, a genius producer, presented from the 1960's to the 1990's, the best of the USSR and China circus acts thanks the to trusted relations he forged with the Cultural Affairs of the two countries.

In turn, Alain Pacherie paces the Far East in search of the exceptional and presents it under his Phoenix Circus marquee, lawn of Reuilly. You need to make some adjustements, some variations, and then sign a staging in synch with our time : director of the "Tomorrow's worldwide Circus Festival" (Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain), Alain Pacherie is indeed a man who do not wants the circus bounded to the vulgarity of sparkling g-strings, dopey collage numbers and out of date drumming.

For this latest vintage of The stars of the Beijin Circus, he add to the pure circus artists crew, a troupe of eight Shaolin monks. It still needs to perform the marriage of Chinese-circus artistry of acrobatics and the Shaolin monks, subject to a martial arts discipline and mysterious concentration allowing them to harden their bodies as stone, therefore insensitive to the most cutting blades and the hardest marbles they break in a whim. Le spectacle en sort contrasté, avec d’un côté la virilité des moines et de l’autre la grâce et l’adresse des acrobates. The show cpomes out contrasted with in one hand some manly monks and the other grace and agile acrobats.

The challenge of bringing together these two disciplines is exciting. The show, presented with the silhouette of the Imperial City palace in the background, and costumes reminiscent of the elegance of the eternal China, contains beautiful circus acts: body pagodas covering lit chandeliers and umbrella, an especially incredible performance of Icarian, juggling with human bodies. A set of new and unique numbers to the delight thrill and aestheticism seekers.
